Map of the World, Fuller Projection #09

Bhaval creates abstracted images based on Buckminster Fuller’s Dymaxion map projection. He writes “it’s more about the way a map looks aesthetically in relation to the composition and colors I use. I like how this view of the world can be so unrecognizable to some, but once you start picking out continents it suddenly becomes […]

Every Airline Ticket

Discovery Park

The Western March of Tanaloth

The western edge of Tanaloth is dominated by a large mountain while a road threading east through Findlay Pass leads to the city of Tanaloth itself. Nearly everything here is named: ridges, streams, hamlets, and larger settlements such as Burin and Romsey. David drew this for a campaign he ran using GURPS, the Generic Universal […]

Hope Island – Natural Spaces

Diana sent us these two watercolors from a series of works exploring visual connections between the islands of Narragansett Bay. She writes that she became fascinated with “the natural cycles of the bay, the islands large and small that dot the bay, and the history flowing in, around, and through.” As an artist she explores, […]

Comfort and Happiness

Matias mapped the hidden infrastructure of a small section of Rosario, Argentina — the pipes, fixtures, and systems that quietly sustain everyday life. Rendered in a dense grid of numbers, symbols, and color-coded routes, the map traces what he calls “a network that gives us comfort and happiness,” threading together hot and cold water supplies, […]

Oklahoma is OK

Walt, an artist who has spent most of his life in Oklahoma, made this collage map of Tulsa as a meditation on place and belonging.
